Case Study 1

Iveco Lorry Conversion 1 (Ms J horsebox ): 3.5 ton

A customer contacted us for a new conversion as her existing lorry had frankly seen better days! After a friendly chat to see what her needs were which also included the budget available we sourced a suitable vehicle and began work.

The build went very smoothly and came together on time and budget.

The required specification included an offset central partition, which would accommodate either a large horse or a pony trap. The other side was designed to accommodate the customer’s miniature pony.

A remote controlled winch was also fitted to assist the person with loading the trap.

Both breast bars were made to be adjustable for various sizes of horse or pony.

The ramp was very light and could be opened and closed with one hand.

Internal and reversing cameras were installed, along with basic living; horse area had an aluminium floor and an extra fold out step.

The vehicle itself was fully serviced, including a new cam belt and provided with a new MOT.

    Case Study 2

Iveco Lorry Conversion 2: (Ms C horsebox)

While Iveco 1 was in build process another existing customer contacted us and having seen the lorry being built, decided to place an order for a 3.5 ton box with 1100 kg payload. This was intended to be for hire, including qualified driver services.

Once again the box was built to the customer specification and budget.

The box was fitted with basic living, adjustable breast bars and skylights.

A very light ramp was fitted plus internal and external cameras.

The lorry has remote central locking, electronic windows and a cd player/ radio to add to driver comfort.

The horse area floor was aluminium, and was Polyplexed sealed, to allow for hosing out and prompt cleansing as this was a hire vehicle available from www.camillashorsetransport.co.uk

Again the horsebox was fully serviced and an MOT was supplied.

    Case Study 3

    Not a New Lorry Conversion…..

A regular customer brought her horse lorry in to us for its annual service and MOT. The lorry had seen much better days and she was thinking about having a new conversion or upgrade done, so we discussed with her the budget available and what she actually needed.

A new build is going to require a realistic budget, which wasn’t really available, so as her old lorry was actually very solid, and always reliable, due to the regular servicing and care it had received we discussed different options.

The basic problem was that the old lorry looked tired having had a very active career, and what was actually required was some ‘cosmetic surgery’ to give the Old Girl a facelift!

So for the budget she had available we were able to do some interior and exterior modifications, including a ‘make-over’ for the cab, the old lorry was transformed. The customer was so pleased she said she hardly recognised it and more importantly it didn’t break the bank!
